The Kuoni and Hugentobler Foundation is a corporate foundation with its own legal personality and registered office in Stans. According to the purpose specified in the Foundation Deed, its aim is to permanently maintain the business divisions emerging from the original Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd on a solid basis. The Foundation Council manages the Foundation and represents it externally. In addition to Karl Hofstetter, Chairman, the Foundation Council comprises Dieter Widmer, Franz Julen, Sébastien Baumann and Philipp Gmür.

According to the wording in the Foundation Deed, the purpose of the Foundation is to permanently maintain the "Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd" Group, Zurich, on a solid basis while upholding the existing corporate purpose. As a result of the far-reaching changes in the Group since 2015 (see http://kuonihugentobler.ch/geschichte/?lang=en) Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd gave rise to the business division VFS Global. The Foundation also holds a stake in the Hotelbeds Group, into which the former Kuoni business division Global Travel Distribution (GTD) was merged, as well as 100% of the capital in Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd and in Kuoni Travel IP Ltd. The Foundation income must be used for charitable purposes to the extent that it is not used to ensure its continued existence. The focus is on promoting efforts aimed at maintaining an intact environment and ecological balance as a basis for sustainable tourism and supporting disadvantaged children in tourism regions in Switzerland and abroad.

The Foundation holds 25 percent of the voting rights in the parent company of VFS Global Ltd. It also holds a stake in the Hotelbeds Group, into which the former Kuoni business division Global Travel Distribution (GTD) was merged, and 100% of Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd which was newly formed in 2018 as well as Kuoni Travel IP Ltd.
